Student ID Badges

    • All San Marcos CISD Pre-K to 12th grade students will receive a year specific student identification card (ID). The ID includes the student's name, campus, academic year, grade, and student ID number.

    • All students are required to visibly wear their 2024-2025 student identification card while on campus, attending any SMCISD sponsored function, or riding in any SMCISD vehicle.

    • Student ID badges allow campus staff members to quickly identify students, the campus they attend, and individuals who do not belong on campus.

    • Wearing an ID is essential in maintaining campus safety and is required for the efficiency of the following district services:

      • Constant Student Identification

      • School Bus Ridership

      • Child Nutrition/Lunchline

      • Movement Between Buildings (SMHS)

      • Late Arrival to School Tracking

      • Library Book/Circulation Desk Checkout

      • Emergency Response Identification

    • SMCISD secondary students are only granted entry to extracurricular after school functions (athletic events, fine arts performances, community nights, etc) on SMCISD property if they are wearing their student ID badge around their neck; non-compliant students will be denied entry. Students will continue to wear their ID badge while in attendance, non-compliance will result in removal from the event.

    • In the event that a student misplaces or forgets their ID, they can visit their designated campus location for a replacement. The cost of a replacement ID is $5.00 to cover the expenses of associated supplies (card, lanyard, sleeve, and printing).

    • Students not in compliance are subject to appropriate campus intervention in accordance with the SMCISD Student Code of Conduct.
