Mrs. Michelle Moreno

Hello! I’m Michelle Moreno and am thrilled to begin my 22nd year in the district and my 2nd school year as Assistant Principal at Miller Middle School! Although I’m originally from San Antonio, I consider myself a native of San Marcos. I moved here while in the 7th grade where I attended Goodnight MS, then graduated from San Marcos High School. During my time at SMHS, I was very involved on my school campus as I competed in 3 varsity sports, served as a team captain, and was selected by my senior class as Most Athletic Female. In addition to athletics, I served my peers as Student Council President, Spanish Club President, Class Secretary, and a member of the Superintendent’s committee. After SMHS, I attended Schreiner University on a volleyball scholarship and was the first in my family to go to college. A couple of years later, I transferred to Texas State University where I later received a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sports Science and a Minor in Spanish. In 2003, I began my educational career at my high school alma mater teaching Spanish, Physical Education, and Foundations of Personal Fitness, and served as Head Volleyball Coach and Girls’ Athletic Coordinator for my first 17 years. After that, I moved to Goodnight Middle School as a Girls’ Athletic coordinator, teacher/coach, and AP Intern while completing my Master’s degree in Education Administration from Lamar University. In March 2023, I joined Miller MS as an Assistant Principal.

I married my high school sweetheart, Chris, and earlier this year we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. Our son CJ, also a product of SMCISD will be starting his 5th year as a high school teacher and Defensive Coordinator this fall.  We are excited about his fiancé, Gabby, joining our family as we plan for their wedding this winter! My favorite activities include spending time with my family, baking, outdoor activities, and traveling.

My mission is to serve Miller MS by establishing trust and relationships with all stakeholders. I am excited about the possibilities that this school year will bring; and proud to be part of this school community.
