Hello! I am Mrs. Gonzalez and I will serve as De Zavala's Information Literacy Specialist, where I will manage the DZ Library and provide literacy lessons for all of our DZ Diamonds. Being in this position has been a dream of mine for many years and I am excited to do it at De Zavala. My goal is to teach all students to read for the love of reading. I plan to do that by providing engaging activities that involve STEAM and MakerSpace activities with literacy as the main focus. 

I have been a proud DZ Diamond since 2018. I taught 5th grade for three school years at DZ, and 2nd through 4th grade in Hays CISD. I have enjoyed every grade level I've taught, and now I look forward to moving on to the next step serving DZ in our library. 

San Marcos has been my home since 2005, when my husband and I moved here to attend Texas State University. We put each other through school and raised our children here. I graduated from Texas State University in 2010 with a degree in Bilingual Education. In my spare time I enjoy crafting, gardening, reading, and most especially, spending time with my husband and family.
